Still Here, Still Knitting, Still Ordering Coffee

It has been a while since I wrote a post. Life has been life — busy, messy, joyful, sad, overwhelming, quiet, happy, proud, and everything in between.

There have been more coffees, places I hadn’t visited before, and photos I didn’t take because the conversations were deep, interesting, captivating, and beautiful — or because I was simply in the moment and fully present.

June brought World Wide Knit in Public Day, and I joined the Puddletown Knitters Guild at IKEA Portland. It was a fun event, sitting and knitting in the marketplace where the sofas and chairs are displayed. I learned about PKG and their monthly meetups and had little chats with a few folx.

In July, I was in San Francisco for a long weekend.

There have been several to-go coffees — my least favorite kind. One of them was from California Kahve, located near the carousel in Golden Gate Park.

At the time, I had the Friday Tee by PetiteKnit on my needles, using The Wandering Flock Fingering Singles in the colors Dune and Limeade.

In Tigard, Well & Good Cafe is a place I often go with my kids for breakfast. I am still struggling with taking photos of places, especially when there are people in the café. My favorite burrito there is The Peterson — veggies, hash browns, eggs, and pepper jack cheese wrapped in a spinach tortilla. It’s a lovely café, though it can get noisy and hard to have a conversation when it’s full.

Maybe that is what this past year has really been about — less documenting and more living. Fewer perfectly framed photos, more conversations, coffees, stitches, and moments I wanted to stay inside a little longer.

And somewhere between all of that, there was also trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and few days at the Croatia cost.

I’d love to hear your thoughts!
